Outta school or sleep wid fishes

A REPUTED Genovese crime family associate was charged yesterday with threatening a competitor who won the contract to cater lunches at a Staten Island school.

Frank (Frankie D.) DiMattina, who owns a catering hall called Ariana’s in New Jersey and pitched a reality show about himself called “banquetboyz,” was so steamed over losing the school contract he ordered the competitor to withdraw his bid – which he did.

To show he meant business, DiMattina “lifted his shirt to show [the victim] the butt of an automatic handgun tucked into the waistband” of his pants, according to court records.

DiMattina is licensed by the NYPD to carry the gun because he was the victim of a robbery in the course of his business, said defense lawyer VINCENT ROMANO who accused the feds of overreaching.

“THIS IS A CIVIL MATTER THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN HANDLED IN CIVIL COURT, BUT FOR THE FACT THAT MR. DIMATTINA IS AN ITALIAN-AMERICAN,” ROMANO said.

DiMattina, 43, reports go Genovese soldier John (Johnny Sausage) Barbato, court records show. DiMattina was ordered held without bail pending a hearing next week.
